What You Will Do:
Under general supervision, fills orders for unit doses, pre-package pharmaceuticals, intravenous admixtures, DEA Controlled substances, floor stock, supplemental medications, emergency kits and general stock requisitions. Maintains proper levels of pharmaceutical supplies, instruments and equipment. Performs various related pharmacy duties including such quality management activities as drug product recalls, pharmacy area inspections and pharmaceutical care audits. Responsible for maintaining the Robot.
What You Need to Be Successful:
III. Education and Experience:
1. High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Successful completion of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program is preferred.
2. Maryland BOP registration required.
3. Minimum of two (2) years experience as a Pharmacy Technician is required.
IV. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. General knowledge of generally accepted pharmacy principles, practices and procedures, pharmaceutical generic and trade names.
2. General knowledge of general PC computer software applications, such as, spreadsheet, database, word processing, data entry is required.
3. Ability to perform mathematical operations required in recording and counting of inventory, processing supply requests and for record keeping purposes, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
4. Highly effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary in order to work with medical, nursing and various allied health staff in order to successfully provide optimal patient care.
5. Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient population(s) served. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and ability to assess data reflective of the patient's requirements relative to his or her population-specific and age specific needs.
